@chappygrandpappy2450 its what all americans call it, no wait, the conservatives call it socialism, oh wait, and some of them call it. marxism?
28
Supreme Chancellor Palpatine no, its most americans, well a small number of americans actually use the term "social democracy" bless them, but a larger group just calls me Marxist for bringing up our policies as good ideas
8
Supreme Chancellor Palpatine yes, when did i state that they dont call it that?
4
thats not what the middle class pays, no one pays that danes on average pay 38-39% in income tax
2
the fact you try that argument shows why you are not qualified for this discussion there is no GOVERNMENT IMPOSED minimum wage but you have to understand that we have some of the strongest unions this side of the galaxy which raise wages SIGNIFICANTLY
2
@ShaneshaS what shit does he not know?
2
@smaimth "Democratic Socialism wants to replace the Capitalist system with Socialism using Democratic method" actually not true, that would be fabian socialism, democratic socialism is not the same, democratic socialism is more about how the system is to work after capitalism is overthrown weather by vote or revolution it does not matter
2
hes never advocate for all mansions being taken from people what are you on?
2
the free is just a term, everyone knows you pay in taxes, you arent uncovering a dark secret it refers to the fact that its free at the point of use
2
fake news he was a journalist, he was allotted 3 days to stay and write about natural childbirth and after 3 days the leader of the commune EXACTLY AS THE BOOK PUTS IT "kindly requested that he move on" you know why he asked him that? because everyone was so eager to talk to bernie that some work wasnt getting done people liked bernie too much and thats why he was AND AGAIN "kindly requested that he move on" you are not immune to propaganda dude
2
it would be nice if america didnt suppress unions
2
@xyphoon5013 the US will crumble under the last throws of fury that lash out from its dying capitalism as it decays into fascism yet again in the pathetic attempt to extend the life of the blood sucking monster of exploitation only before the people rise up and start a new age of cooperation setting the scene for the next stage of mankind where we become released from the shackles of our own design only to fight against the very laws of nature that oppress us, spreading through the galaxy and discovering the true foundations of physics and its limitations
2
if you only count together the social democracies in the EU you still tally more than 300 million citizens either way the US already spends twice as much of its GDP on healthcare than any nation on earth thats exactly 18%, germany is 9% and denmark uses 8%
1
its a linguistic thing, in america democratic socialism is an umbrella term that encompass social democracy so its not that funny, its actually kind of degrading to the american culture that their education is so bad that the majority of its population knows nothing about political terminology
1
@xaviqaz9515 what do they do differently?
1
@giuliom3564 i feel like the only thing better about the swiss system is that they are filthy fucking rich?
1
vat tax is more effective than corporate tax anyways, and we do have minimum wage, its just set by unions instead of the state
1
my partner always says i "sing" my danish because im so bad at sounding danish
1
its had many movements that line up with social democratic ideology MLK and FDR even JFK in some of his policies
1
can you show me where bernie brings up raising the tax that high?
1
france has other issues and free just means that its free at point of use
1
very on point
1
@savvysavages6931 if under the american system i pay 100 units of money to get my foot healed thats 100 units of money if in the socialized healthcare system i pay out taxes through the year and it adds up to 60 units of money and i go to the hospital that year with a broken leg, i have saved money look at it this way, by nationalizing it you cut out the middle men, the accountants, the paperwork to do, the ceos and stock holders and all that the US spends 18% of its gdp on healthcare as is germany which is on the higher end uses 9% while denmark uses 8% one is clearly cheaper to run, and in social democracies it covers everyone for everything! in the US loads of people avoid going or go and the insurance decides they dont cover the specific thing its costing your people a lot
1
i dont see the issue, he seems fully capable
1
the system can be designed to prevent abuse, it has measures like that in denmark
1
he is no for open borders drok
1
thats because of out system. good luck
1
yea you suuuure do live in a socialist nation... not
1
@elisemcclintick9719 how about american settlers who didnt like paying taxes to britain should have just moved?
1
@ChasSO3 we know the difference, and bernies policies line up with social democracy, i do think that bernie personally may be a democratic socialist, but its the policies that matter
1
@coopsnz1 yea, and?
1
ok russian bot
1
and even then they only pay that amount for every krone made in excess of around half a million DK
1
nice argument...
1
when the US democracy was formed denmark was still a monarchy
1
@anonymousmobster2444 we dont have CNN in denmark, either way the american DemSoc groups im in have people who hate CNN for being a stooge of capitalism
1
@jlkkauffman7942 Argentina rn
1
@BarrySlisk Most self labeled "democratic socialist" types I have interacted with have been social democrats, only like 10% are actually socialists who want to end capitalism
1
@BarrySlisk Thats why I am talking about Americans specifically, because they DO use it incorrectly
1
@savvysavages6931 how will illegal aliens even use the welfare system? they would need to show proof they live in the country, they cant, sorry but your argument is broken
1
you dont pay 50% you are more likely to pay 38-39% the 59% is for every krone in excess of around half a million DK
1
trump is not for social democracy, bernie is not for open borders
1
@jacobnleth thats what the oil fund is for, even if they ran out of oil today they would be fine for a loooong time before it runs out if it even does that, it might continue growing faster than it is depleted
1
sadly so many dont understand this concept
1
if you dont go to collage yourself you still benefit, a higher educated country means conditions improve and there is less demand in low skilled labor which drives up wages in those fields, not only does the country improve around you but you get payed more
1
its a translation thing, americans call everything thats not ancap for marist we are a social democracy, it would be nice if people started learning it so people can use the correct term form now on
1
well, good thing denmark is not socialist
1
well he may actually personally be a democratic socialist but what matters is that his policies are social democratic
1
aye, its social democratic like bernies policies
1
most people here are taxed 38-39% how is that sky high? if you know so well what to do with your money then are you in favor of tax funded roads? do you think you would be better at managing the roads between the places you go between?
1
how did that work out for a dictator? uhhh yea, not well, good thing denmark is not run by a dictator and bernie does not advocate for turning america into a dictatorship
1
he is though, his policies entirely line up with social democracies
1
he does not have to, america is still majority culturally america, cultural bonds are much stronger that ethnic bonds
1
yes, we are a social democracy, sort of like what bernie advocates for
1
its social democracy, socialist democracy is not a thing
1
more money? i mean living in a tiny apartment eating ramen is good and all for in between jobs or getting an education but its not the end goal is it? i mean, for someone maybe
1
depends, are you outside a refugee housing unit yelling it and holding a a sign with some other shit on it? no you cant i wish you could so that you could go ahead and get killed for doing something that so obviously would get you killed rasmus paludan is a racist politician who goes to refugee neighborhoods and does shit like this, the police have spent millions of tax dollars on him already to protect him from getting attacked for destroying the holy book and shit like that its a waste of tax money to spare his life
1
i get paid fairly well, but by education includes actual work as its a practical education
1
in the eu alone its social democracies tally up to more than 300 million citizens
1
@as above so below technically 3.0 (you know, because of the definition of socialism)
1
does that matter? the US system isnt dealing with those things well as is
1
his policies still line up with out social democracy
1
its so obvious that the danish dude you are talking to has an agenda, most danes i know would disagree with him or phrase what he says in less sinister ways
