Look to the Mothers of East LA from the 90s and how they curbed gang activity by patrolling the streets with food/drinks to befriend and humanize gang members and offer them love and a sense of direction. Coping takes many forms and I hope these mourning mothers CBS interviewed take their meetings to the streets. I agree a larger presence is necessary, but if the Police cannot handle this then it is incumbent on the community to protect their area. Kyle Rittenhouse providing aid and comms comes to mind.
