As an American I would say Metric is superior for calculations in Science and Engineering but Imperial is better for Intuitive, everyday use, so that's why we haven't switched over. Imperial is better suited for visualization purposes, just not on paper. We see the benefit of both systems.

@shaneryan7622 Metric is great for calculations, not just very intuitive.

Celsius is odd to us. For example, why the negative numbers? Strange.

@shaneryan7622 Also explain so little change between the whole numbers. 20-21C could be better described using 68, 69, 70F.
4
Negative C temperatures. Now that's funny.
4
Half degree C temperatures such as 20.5. Funny.

@hoff7786 20 C vs 20.5 C? Makes no sense.

Metric makes sense from a measurement standpoint, say if you are doing calculations for Science and Engineering, but everyday use, Imperial is more intuitive. For example, how am I supposed to visualize 20 C vs 20.5 C or 10 Kg vs. 10.5 Kg?
2
Sure. F is a better system to describe temperature. No need for decimals.
2
Negative Celsius temperatures. Now that's funny.

We Americans actually use both systems of measurement in our everyday use. You can say we are bilingual in measurement systems. Engineering schools teach using both systems.
2
No, it's just that Imperial is more intuitive than Metric.
