  1. they are almost extinct in the wild I think its a good idea, nothing is native to the UK in was under 2 miles of ice 15000 years ago

  2.  @mike4769  yeah I know but limited areas, they used to grow all over the western United states from Colorado to California but as the west has dried up for the past 12,000 years its range has shrank drastically

  3. well their range used to be much greater previous to the last ice age they were all over North America and europe but since europe had very tiny refugia areas like only spain then you hit the Mediterranean they went extinct as the ice advanced, and North America had better refugia areas for plants and animals to retreat to during the glacial maximum
