  1.  @misterbig9025  It's inspired by the American flag. They also have red and white as traditional malayan colors, the stripes representing the 14 founding states (in the US that's 13). Also the star/sun has 14 tips for the same reason. The blue originates from the Commonwealth, but its meaning changed to symbolize Unity of the Malayan people, yellow is used as regal color.
