  2. I think he explained it and told the story behind it on one of the older vlogs. If you have missed that, you should watch them anyway :) - short answer: it's a safety thing regarding bird strikes IIRC.

  3. Trying to make a simple explanation: Imagine the rotor being a big propeller. Collective is like the prop pitch lever that way while Cyclic does change the blade angles partially depending on where you move it to so you have more lift on one part of the rotor disc than on the others so the whole thing will tilt. For a better explanation, you might wanna watch this: youtu.be/ysadvsXDVDU If you're interested in simulations, you should give DCS World a try, they do have a free trial period at the moment for most modules and the helo physics are probably the best you can have at the moment on a PC sim.   4. I remember sim flying these back in the 90s as a kid XD Nowadays they're too classified to make a good sim of which kinda is a shame, but reasonable anyway.
