  7.  Benjamin McCann  I dig that sound when they do autos... somehow it's soothing, just what you'd need in case you gotta do a real auto because of an engine failure. And you could literally tell the rotor RPM by just listening. I wonder how much of that is audible with the headphones or even helmet on.

I'm no expert on the real thing, but in DCS I noticed the slapping gets louder as you increase the load on the rotor disc by climbing or pushing forward and pulling collective at the same time to pick up speed fast. When dropping the collective for a fast dive, it literally goes away. It also kinda shifts to the direction you're steering to, that may be related to the whole rotor disc tilting snf probably gets more pronounced in the cockpit when flying with doors off.
