Glad you weren't hit by that hurricane... did actually think about your family though as you said you did your first flight in Eunice, LA which is a lot closer to where that thing went.
Lester GoFundMe? Where? This is literally the first time I heard of this being a thing...

OK, have found it in the AI vs F-16 video: https://www.gofundme.com/f/lester-cambre039s-flight-path-to-recovery
Might drop some in there as well, even if it won't be much, guess every little bit helps. You know, it feels good to help others get something you always wanted, but never had... almost as good as getting it yourself. Almost ;)
1:15 TOMCATS!
Furlough doesn't sound good... I mean, you'd basically lose your job, but the difference being you could get back in since you're not fired, but that depends on whether the company is going to pick up again or not. In Germany we have something called "Kurzarbeit", where you'd get at least 60% of your salary from the state in case your company enrolls for that. So you'd get less, but aren't completely left on your own. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short-time_working ). On top of that, it just has been decided to raise that by 10% during the pandemic. So with children, you'd be at 77%, which isn't too bad.
7:47 That literally goes for every path you might choose. Always have a backup plan, or at least some idea. Won't hurt and you might need it. Don't get into target fixation, always have a look around. Even if that might not actually do you any better, it at least increases your chances to actually get somewhere. And maybe you discover something you like that you didn't realize or even thought of before.
