0:12 I probably missed it if you made some content there...
0:41 US Space Force! /)
0:53 Great, physical PDE!
1:24 That's typically how you learn it... just a bummer that you couldn't manage to make it run.
1:45 Speaking of input hardware: Have you gotten a Force Feedback base yet? VPForce Rhino is said to be the best, but the new Moza AB9 is easier to get and less expensive. And for me, coming from the good old Sidewinder FFB2, it's a night and day difference with a real center stick now that has much more travel, precision and stuff without giving up on FFB and the real trimming experience.
2:54 I guess the key is setting a bigger rolling cache (which never worked for me in the 2020, I had to disable it completely to prevent massive stuttering from going on, and also the rolling cache would prevent photogrammetry stuff getting loaded properly) and them implementing a convenient way to preload certain areas by selection so you won't run into this. I also noticed that in the marketplace, the old addons for the 2020 are listed as "streamed", but there was no way to switch it to something like "locally installed", but the fact alone that it's saying the stuff is being streamed makes me imagine an "install locally" option will be coming for those addons at some time.
4:11 Totally with you there. They shouldn't be an "achievement" that you need to get to first.
9:40 True. Even though I don't mind a refresher (dang, I've been doing some of the F/A-18C tutorials again in DCS recently), those shouldn't be mandatory. Just add a switch to the options for unlocking all contents and reward those who want to do the stuff with some achievement trophies in their favourite game launcher for their ego.
13:53 Agree, they totally give us the option!
14:27 Which it basically is. They literally pulled the Windows 11 move with FS. Before that, in both cases the respective product was going to stay until further notice and to keep getting updates as a service. And then Satya went back to "Oh, wait, we're going to release Win 11 really soon now!" and Asobo followed with their FS24 announcement.
14:49 I guess so as well. It probably is going to be the MS flight sime for another 4 years even if they keep supporting the old for a while as well. I bought the Limied one from Aerosoft and since I didn't do that early enough, I still have to wait for another week or two to get it. With the Aviator's inside, I finally get all the Local Legends and other aircraft they've released so far for the 2020. Could have bought them at a 33% off for having the PDE before, but I only got the Do-31 and the An-225.
Luckily, I just noticed they'Re offering a 14 day Game Pass for just one buck, so I grabbed that one to try out the Standard Edition before getting the full thing. And I wasn't around when all the launch shenanigans happened - well, kinda. Was a great time for having lots of popcorn! :D
16:42 That probably is related to bing maps being part of the sources. They have like a tenth of the data amount of what Google has. ANd it totally is older.
PS: I just can't wait for the official FFB implementation that's on the roadmap. I hope the Moza telemetry thing just works somehow in the meantime. Not having FFB was one of the main reasons why I didn't fly the 20 that much.
