  2.  @CWLemoine  IMHO it's a great replacement for the Harrier and shouldn't even exist without VTOL at all. The F-22 is better in that regard. But they tried to have the same airframe for all services. The result being one of the most expensive ones on the whole planet.

But in a world "dictated" by economy, this is a very unusual and even unpopular way to do things. Mankind loves getting and having problems and they're too lazy and cheap to act in time not to get them at all in the first place.

  14.  @LRRPFco52  You're right - there's a reason all these different things exist and a good platform is the one that can employ most or all of those at choice which is why the A-10 still rocks it, but nevertheless it heavily depends on not being attacked by threads it can't deal with like SAMs or aerial threats.
