Well, I do still have a classic light bulb that survived several of my LED bulbs. But that's one rated for 100W that I keep running dimmed 24/7 at a very low level. And as for LED bulbs, check out "Philips Dubai Lamp" (aka "The lamps you're not allowed to have"). We're going down the same road again, it's just now that they try to get all of us on the new thing. Eventually these will break more frequently as well.

With that in mind, planned obsolescence is the main criterium in human resources depts in free capitalist businesses nowadays. They want you to break so they can replace you. Our parents' generation went out of school, learned a job and stayed in the same company until retirement. Who does that still today? Usually you'll get fired within a year or two nowadays. I always wondered: With all the industrialization, automation, computers, robitics, why on earth would we still all need to work all day long? It simply doesn't fit together. Our whole society model is way beyond being utterly obsolete.
