This happens when utterly stupid people fail to understand their holy scripture in its contemporal context. Surah 9:5: "Then kill the disbelievers (non-Muslims) wherever you find them, capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush …" As long as that is in the Qu'ran, there will always be people abusing it for such horrible acts. And all the others not condemning these acts don't make it any better.
