  1.  @AlexLee-dc2vb  There's a system called BKO President-S, basically a laser jammer system that tries to blind IR seekers of incoming missiles AFAIK. DCS Black Shark 3 was going to get it, but they had to drop it, because reasons. Wouldn't be surprised if those Ka-52s have it operational. But who knows how effective it would be? (AH-64s have a similar IR jammer system, the AN/ALQ-144 "Disco Light")

(This tells a lot about the calmness of your content presentation) One thing that also is forgotten often enough: Maintaining a NFZ means you're operating 24/7. There's always someone up there from every part of the infrastructure needed to get that done. That's pure attrition of the material. And with that in mind, also be aware of the fact that Ukraine is slightly larger than Iraq (actually only the part north of 33° N which is just a bit south of Baghdad) or the theatre around Bosnia and Serbia. Basically the NFZs in the past have been established after gaining air superiority, in order to maintain it. You simply can't just do that to a place where you don't have air superiority yet.
