  10.  @DanFrederiksen  First of all, ask yourself: if the Jews were REALLY committing genocide on the Arab population (which they are not), why on earth did the Arab population quadruple in Palestine in the last 70 years? Secondly, genocide is the destruction of an ethnic group of people. Palestinians are not an ethnic group. Still, Israel is waging war on Hamas not on the people. War is ugly and it is unfortunate to say that collateral damage is a legal tactic. The taking of hostages, raiding people's homes - raping and murdering them is not a legal tactic. And these acts are being perpetrated exclusively on a specific ethnic group BECAUSE of their ethnic identity - that's genocide and genocide is terrorism. Also, there is no such thing as a Palestinian people. That's because there was never any such thing as a self-governed Palestinian country. After the Romans kicked the Jews out of their ancestral land they renamed the territory "Palestine." From that moment on Palestine became a province - a piece of land - a territory that was up for grabs for whichever kingdom won control over it by way of war. Over the course of history there were many kingdoms - from the Romans, to the Byzantines, to the Egyptians, to the Persians, to the Ottomans, etc. All the people who came to settle in Palestine became SUBJECTS of whichever kingdom controlled it at the time. These were European (Romans), Egyptians, Syrians, Turks, Persians - pagans, Christians, Jews and Muslims (etc). They never, ever, ever called themselves Palestinians because there was no such country. It was just a territory. At the end of WWI, in 1918, the Ottomans lost control of Palestine after a 400 year rule - They lost it to Britain. Britain literally invited the Jews to come and resettle on what was - at THAT time. BRITISH LAND (which, by the way, was a very sparsely populated wasteland). The Arabs did not like this so they waged war on the Jews from the start - as if it were their land to wage war! The Arabs might have had ties to the land because they lived there for generations, but they did not ever self-govern Palestine and the Jews had ancestral ties to the land as well. Technically, Palestine did not BELONG to either group, but because of the fighting and because the British mandate was coming to an end - the land was divided. The Jews were happy. When the British mandate was officially over, the Jews created their own constitution and their own country. with their portion. The INSUBORDINATE Arabs did not want to create a country out of a smaller portion of the land - despite the fact that the division left them with the larger and more fertile part of the territory. They were - and still are - acting very childish. From the river to the sea is bull! It isn't all theirs and NEVER was. This is why there is a saying: if the Arabs lay down their arms - they will have peace; if the Jews lay down their arms - they will be exterminated.
