@nasserelayan6713 the land in 1948 did not belong to the Palestinian people - it belonged to Britain and Britain gave the Jews permission to return and settle. Prior to Britain, Palestine belonged to the Ottoman Turks, and prior to the Ottoman Turks it belonged to many many other kingdoms - Christian and Islamic - going all the way back to the Roman Empire. That's because after the Romans kicked the Jews out of their ancestral land, Palestine became a territory , largely desolate, that was up for grabs for whichever kingdom won control of it by way of war. Palestine was never a self-governed country. And because of that there was never a Palestinian people. Over the last 2000 years people just moved there from the surrounding countries and became subjects of whichever kingdom controlled it at the time. Even when Palestinian national identity was born in 1948 it was still not country. Palestine didn't become a country until 1988.
