Two things the world needs right now: more Linux distros and more JavaScript frameworks.

So will massive uncontrolled immigration.

@ExplainingComputers MacOS has an unfair reputation among PC users. At least Apple give their users what they want instead of foisting unwanted changes on their sadomasochistic user base (i.e. Windows users)

Even better than NoteTab light is NotePad++

'As usual I have to make scaling changes' Actually this is a good use case for using an autoinstall file. It means you don't need to keep manually making changes. Maybe for a future video you can explore how to make autoinstall files, or use something like Ansible to automate installing your favourite software and changing desktop settings?

I only 'need' Windows for running games. There is no Linux OS that can run these games as well as Windows does. Solution: get a console or grow up and stop playing games!

I'm waiting for Apple Pie, complete with the logo 'And have a nice day y'all!'

The AI hype (note that word) is being used to drive a new hardware adoption cycle. So much for consuming less to 'save the planet'. It's just the same old crap over again.

Log in automatically is a really bad idea...

Current energy prices will more likely force people to sell their computers just to afford to keep the lights on. Doing our bit for democracy in Ukraine!
2
It's okay but nowhere near as easy to use or powerful for an average user as Windows 10 Pro. Licenses for Windows 10 Pro can be had for less than £50.

Putting more RAM into that ancient thing won't make very much difference. You're looking at buying a completely new motherboard - new CPU, RAM etc. Might as well build a brand new machine
2
Strange Mancunian man buys new router hmmm very interesting lol
2
Does the world really need 'yet another operating system' (YaOS)?
2
Is this a 'new' experience? We've had virtual desktops for a while ...
2
When will you do a review of Mac OS? :-)
2
Start10 from Stardock is essential to make Windows 10 usable
2
Kardashian?
2
Ubuntu is a great start, and maybe one day you will graduate from Kindergarten and get a grown-up distro like Fedora :-)

There are only two key drivers. 1) Never-ending search for profits and 2) Ever-greater control over people's lives.
2
I hate computers. Let's go to the cloud and let other people worry about this shit
2
Shameless self-promotion = advertising ZX Spectrum programs you published in the 80s lol
2
Congratulations on keeping your man cave free of dust and dirt
2
No thanks.

I thought you were a Windows 11 fan?
2
Another day, another Pi. Oh dear.

From 2008, so quite recent really... oh really?

Noticed how tablets are getting bigger and bigger and coming with detachable keyboards more often than not these days? Yep, tablets are evolving back into laptops lol

Windows 11? Puke...

Will organic computing be able to make my penis bigger?

Why in blazes would anyone ever want to run Windows 10 on such a small underpowered machine? Seems like a complete waste.
1
Ah yes, just what the world needs - another operating system.
1
I don't think you've fully explained how this can be considered an alternative to Windows - unless it's for someone who wants to install an esoteric OS just to get access to some free software that's already available on Windows?
1
Good man!
1
Oh dear, you appear to be using Windows 10 to download all the ISOs.

Cyborgs!!!

If it's more views you're after, maybe you should talk about cryptocurrency or become a Fortnite gamer.
1
Would you be happy to run these Linux hacks 100% for all your production tasks lol?
1
There's no real need to avoid Windows 10 at this stage. You can opt out of all the M$ spyware, use a local account, and return to the Windows 7 start layout using (free) Classic Shell software. There's certainly some software that works in Win7 which won't under Win10, but using Wine isn't the solution :-)

You must have been a rich bastard in 1989.
1
And they're all shit. :( Linux as server is good, on desktop not really
1
I used to play with myself for hours xxx
1
Noooo! Why would anyone do this? You should be getting people on to Linux instead.
1
@Bobby That's not true for modern hardware and especially not true for older hardware. For older hardware that MS doesn't support, it is triply untrue.
1
Windows 11 - hope you held your nose!
1
An extremely small house, maybe. One that a little twelve inch person could live in.

Manufacturers have an incentive to lock you into their proprietary hardware (as small as possible, stuck together with clue if necessary). You have to pay them to upgrade every 2 - 5 years as the planned obsolescence cycle dictates. This is, once again, convenience vs. freedom.
