🤔 I think that the height of our Christianity was a period of enlightenment. I do concede that we are embarking upon a new dark age though.

@billbadson7598 now that is the sort of talk that had turned me away from Christianity, totally and completely, over the years - that you truly believe Christians to have a monopoly on good works and better feelings just highlights the total hypocrisy of the clan. And I believe it is why so many have turned their backs on faith and come to idolise temporary pleasures. It truly saddens me that this is so because I believe we need faith now more than ever but are being driven more toward idolatry - just as the entire islamic faith is based upon idolatry. Even though it has exactly the same one god at it’s heart.

@billbadson7598 you’ll be telling me next that every word of the bible is the gospel truth. That despite it having been rewritten and reinterpreted according to the particular foibles and bigotries of the scribes over and over and over again 🤦 and it’s still being reinterpreted to fit modern opinions and standards 🤷 and still we’re told it’s the word of god. Is it b’cks 🙄

In like manner, the Muslims have Mohamed and, in a way, the Catholics their Mary. We should strive to find a way for these superheroes to bring us together, not drive us apart. The Ecumenical Church brings Christian communities together. Well now we need bigger hearts to bring all faiths together so that we can truly live side by side. And, yes, that needs include the atheists and agnostics.

I too agree with Richard yet am a believer in a higher power, though not a believer in the sense or of the same power that most Christians believe.
