  1. One of the things I dislike about the Algarve is that there are not many children here. It’s mainly retired folk. I utterly love seeing children in restaurants. It’s a pity that’s not a frequent sight.. (Spain used to treat children well, it’s heartbreaking to hear of these changes)

  14. It’s not just the weather. Many other factors leave Portugal as a better place to retire. It’s a very safe place to be. The people are lovely and kind.

  23. You might be surprised to see €5M villas in the Algarve selling now for €7M ! That’s a 40% increase in one year. ( I admit €500K villas haven’t increased) but it’s fascinating to witness changes to the top of the market. Somewhat trashes your forecast!

  26. Fuel Prices are NOT because of increased margins … Stuart you really need to wake up !! It’s the money printing! It’s devaluation of our € $ or £ .. Governments can raise money by (i) taxation (ii) borrowing or (iii) printing money. I’m afraid the QE or “money printing” is accelerating . Get used to massive inflation.

  29. Bring plenty of money though ! The worlds most expensive electricity and water. Higher VAT than anywhere else and Sadly the worlds laziest tradesmen too . Very civilised gentle people. Low crime and sunny ! More than makes up for it too ! Overall I think the best thing about Portugal is that the criminals shit themselves when they come across the GNR! Bad guys are simply not welcome here.

  34. Stuart all of your comments are valid. You make good videos and you have spot on judgement. Portugal’s roads are dangerous. The 125 in the Algarve was for many years the most dangerous road in the world. The Portuguese baffle me … most of them are skint and earn €1100 or less a month … but they drive their crappy little Peugeots and Citroen’s at 150km/h and will tailgate you with a great deal of aggression. It’s so odd , because when not behind the wheel they are not strong or aggressive and actually a little shy. I don’t get it ! Why drive flat out if petrol is €1.70 a litre and you only earn €1100 a month ? 😂
