  6. Sandy , sometimes you say things that make me scratch my head. 🤔, the reason that it’s allowed for aircraft and not cars are multiple; (i) there is a lot more redundancy on an aircraft ! An Airbus for example has five computers doing the FBW. ELACS and SECS. (ii ) the aircraft maintenance regime is so strict ! There is zero chance of some untrained monkey fucking it up. (There could be, in the car world) (iii) It doesn’t matter what the cost is of the aircraft flight control system… it’s designed to be trusted. The car designs have to comply with a strict budget.

  11. I often disagree with Sandy. The Tesla seats are too small ! I’m only 1.83m and 90kg (a typical male Tesla owner ?) but I find the seats smaller than those in a Merc/BM/Jag

  17. bobdaruma I wrote several similar posts over the last few years. I felt exactly the same as you….. But, after 3 months of ownership I have to admit I was wrong! They work well and I now feel it’s a better design. I notice my girlfriends Audi A5 convertible (like every other convertible) has the same design

  42. I collect my MY on Monday in Lisbon. I’m curious ! The (M3 MY) suspension gets slated by the press and motoring media. However … I think they are often funded by legacy manufacturers and biased against Tesla. I’m going to have to make up my own mind ! I already hate the Tesla (i )torque steer (ii) frame less windows and (iii) pvc fake leather (iv) woeful dealer experience It’s going to be an interesting day ! In most respects the cars are 4 years ahead of the competition… but it’s clear they have flaws too.

I had a 2022 X5 3.0 diesel … but it could not tow a boat up a slippery slipway ! it didn’t have a centre diff- because the cheapskates at BMW thought they could replicate one using the disc brakes. It was a pitiful system. You could easily get stuck in the X5 even on wet flat grass !! I replaced it with a MY … that toes on sand and weed-covered slipways, beautifully.
