  1. Civil War was not fought to end slavery, war for North was to preserve the union, and for the South to expand slavery. The North even offered the South a constitutional amendment to PROTECT slavery, but South had dreams of an expanded slavery empire, that stretched all the way to Brazil.

  2.  @SunofYork  slavery wasnt abolished it morphed into peonage, convict leasing, and sharecropping. And yes the fascism refined itself as well.

  3. Patrick Clehune there was already slavery in brazil, that was the point, the confeds wanted to include it in their EMPIRE. After the South got its assets kicked, just like the Nazis after ww2, they migtated to brazil as confederados.

  4.  @SunofYork  it was not 'slavers' versus 'non slavers'. It was 'expand slavers' versus 'ok with slavery as it is'.
