The Ruble's strength was purely artificial. No one outside Russia wanted Rubles (why would they?). So even though it had a record-breaking high value for a while, this was only on paper; they were worthless outside Russia really and no one was buying them.

@Steelrat1994 Sad though isn't it? That in this world, cheap oil is more important than preventing human tragedy and daily war crimes. I am sure India will be first in line for that sweet sweet Russian oil. SHAME on anyone buying it and thus funding this war. Karma will pay them back.

Nothing to do with that. Europe stopped buying and will never buy from Russia again. So good luck to them. When you alienate your (by far) largest market for the few exports that you have and which 60% of your economy depends on.... They are doomed even if they win the war.

@alex_gaimar He is. Oil isn't delivered in pipes.

@WinterXR7 Nope, invading another country's sovereign borders is against every convention and rule on our planet. There is no excusing it whatsoever. I guess Ukraine "asked for this" in your book? And who are Russia to dictate who joins NATO? It is none of their business. [Though I do thank them for being responsible for the next 2 (or more) countries that will soon join NATO. We couldn't have done it without Vlad the Failer's help.]

@jordancobb7553 I think you confused me with someone else. I am extremely anti-Russian. Apology accepted.

@WinterXR7 Stop apologising for Russia. The reason the war began was that Russia invaded Ukraine. End of story. There is nothing whatsoever that can justify that. Nothing. NATO's behaviour is irrelevant. They could have taken Putin's mum out on a date, banged her and then never called her back and still that would not justify what Russia has done.

Also remember that all the figures Russia publishes are almost certainly a lie, and they are painting a much more positive situation than the truth. I know it's a shocker, but Russians cannot be trusted to tell the truth. Ever. This BSing is absolutely critical to their plans because they only way they can "win" the war is to outlast the West's resolve to help. If they gave a true economic picture, the West would smell (economic) blood and support for Ukraine would sky-rocket. You also failed to mention that on Dec 5th, two things happen: it becomes illegal for any EU country to buy Russian oil, and the much-touted oil price cap kicks in. Let's see how their economy lies look after that.
