@Kurt That's because the vaccine's main job is to make your symptoms milder when you get it, not to prevent the spread. No idea why the US was given such mis-information. No wonder so many people refused it. Just another Biden screw up I guess.

@foxtrotjulietbravo5536 No. At least not in the UK. The symptoms are very mild in most new cases, because most people are vaccinated and boostered. It is estimated though that had we not had the very high uptake in vaccination, then the hospitals would be at breaking point right now. As it is they are at "coping" point.

Unbelievable that Americans need to go and queue somewhere for a test?? How third world is that? I just walk 100 yards to the chemist and pick up as many testing kits as I want.

@mikerodrick2430 If you were not misinformed, then why is it that in every single thread in any media whatsoever, where vaccinations (and their refusal) in the US are being debated, that the anti-vaxers always cite the fact that the vaccination does not prevent the spread as the reason they won't take it because they use this as evidence that it doesn't actually work? They have obviously been told you cannot get Covid if vaccinated. More damningly, I have also heard with my own ears your president repeatedly give out the same wrong message (that the vax will stop the spread). He has also repeatedly condemned the unvaccinated and insinuated that they are the cause of the recent spike in the disease, which is both untrue and morally appalling. HE is the cause, because of the mis-information he is spreading about what the vax actually does. So....yeah. And finally, the thought that it is republicans who are refusing it has been debunked. It is a bi-partisan thing and split down the middle. Btw I am from the UK so I don't care about the political divide on this issue either way.

@mikerodrick2430 The biggest source of the misinformation is your president. No wonder the anti-vaxxers are anti. It's all because of him.

@crystalwingate3022 Which is what they are still saying. Which is my point.

@ReinaAfricana That's because no vaccine - and no human immune system - is 100% reliable. There will always be exceptions to the expected pattern. I am vaxxed and boosted, and my daughter who was home for Xmas caught Covid, forcing the entire family to isolate in my house for 10 days. None of us caught it from her despite 10+ days of close proximity living together. (We are all vaxxed and boostered, my daughter wasn't).

@ofalove6729 None of the vaxxed had it or caught it. We all test very regularly (2 to 3 tests per week is our norm, and we went up to daily testing for all of us once my daughter tested positive).
