  3. Indeed. It is quite possible that Putin believes the war is going well and all the bad news is just NATO propaganda.

And if we don't, we can take heart from the rather comforting fact that wherever he hides, he can no longer spend his money and is doomed to watch his beloved russia fall to pathetic pieces, in the knowledge HE caused it and HE will go down in history forever as the man who destroyed russia. That will likely be more horrific to him than being brought to justice and hung for his war crimes.
