Very disappointed at the idea of relaxing sanctions if russia pulls out. Even if they do, even if Ukraine wins the war and drives them out, heck even if they surrender and beg forgiveness, the sanctions should remain for many many years to come. We do not just need to push russia out of Ukraine, we need to wreck their economy beyond recovery so they can never try this again. Make no mistake, russia under putin is a force of pure evil, just like the Nazis, and it must be stamped out forever, just like the Nazis. The sanctions must remain until putin is brought to proper justice for war crimes and russia pays full reparations. Anything else is a farce and would simply allow russia to regroup and try again, having learned from their mistakes.

In addition, there is another factor here. Sad to say this but I feel the West did not want the war the end too quickly, and in fact still doesn't (if it did they'd send aircraft). Nope, the plan is to destroy the russia economy and remove them as a super-power forever, and that needs time. While the war continues, the West can keep the sanctions in place and in fact continually increase them (QED), and thus continually wreck their economy. Next step is to trick putin into another mass mobilization, thus taking another 500k (total mobilized and total who will flee) or so of his most productive population out of the russian economy, dealing it another massive blow. We are pretty close to him falling for this.
