Worth mentioning that refined oil products explode more readily than crude oil.

I fell onto my campfire while camping drunk off my ass. I was definitely "on fire".

@jesperlykkeberg7438 I worked for a company that did a lot of the software for them and I heard the exact same. Though this was around 2010.

Russia's Crimea problem is that it isn't theirs.
3
There should never have been restrictions. The US and others created that problem for themselves.

I have always said it is a mistake to judge Ukraine's progress to victory in this war in terms of military results. It isn't and never could be when russia has population of the size it has and does not give a damn how many of them die. Instead it is about making it economically impossible for russia to sustain the war at all and thus force them to withdraw or collapse internally. And judged in those terms, this is no stalemate, Ukraine is blazing to victory and accelerating with every refinery hit.
3
Could it because russia has just proudly demonstrated to the entire world how poor quality its weapons are? I imagine quite a few of russia's (now ex) customers want their money back. They really are a nation of incompetent buffoons.

Who built the dam you referred to? And why?
2
@toliklisiy5868 indeed. it was a joke.

American cannot be trusted. Worst ally.
2
Not sufficient. We also need to keep Russia tech starved for a long time. Would assist in neutralising their nuclear arsenal for one thing. If the current sanctions are preventing them from maintaining their conventional military equipment, how can they possibly maintain a nuclear arsenal?
2
There's only one reason. Russia has not withdrawn from Ukraine. Anything else is noise and BS.

Apparently Putin will lead the parade sitting at one end of a massive motorised table about 40 feet long, bare-chested and spouting absolute bullshit.

2:06 If I were ever asked to describe the Kremlin, I'd say it looked light a garish fairy-princess castle as designed by a bunch of gay drag queens on acid.

Nah, Israel has saved face and Iran now looks weak and cowardly.

@Silver_Prussian That survey has long since been discredited. You grabbed it off wikipedia, I've seen the page myself, do a bit more googling about it and you'll see what I mean.

No. Because the US has no balls and is down on its knees to putin, like some grovelling old drab. How the mighty have fallen. Leader of the free world my arse. A joke. The UK and other countries with balls have given the go-ahead. How the heck will russia know the nationality of a missile? Just tell them everything that hit them was supplied by the UK, or any other ally with a backbone, and let the US cower in the corner where it is happiest.

I am yet to be convinced that 'pravda' is a word in the russian language.
1
Be thankful for russian stupidity. Imagine if they had timed this better and a major counter offensive had started to cross the river...

Ukraine should receive russia's frozen $300 billion immediately.

Energy sales is the only thing keeping Russia afloat and able to wage war (thanks for that Germany and Italy), so I have my doubts whether Russia can afford to cut all gas to EU. They cannot sell it elsewhere to new markets (at least for several years when they build the infrastructure or dozen of massive tankers (yeah good luck doing that Russia with no tech)). Additionally the demand for Russian gas around the rest of the world is a fraction of what the West was buying. But I'm sure China will be happy to bail them out by paying top dollar for new energy that Russia cannot even get to it, and all the while China's own economy is imploding.

The US is now a security risk to the NATO alliance and cannot be trusted. How can they be tolerated? I now have ZERO confidence in NATO.... while the US is a member.
1
@TomislavPuklin-x5m I support Ukraine unconditionally and would accept any price hikes whatsoever in anything I consume if it meant preventing further murder at russia's hands. Thinking otherwise makes you a despicable human being imo.

Whether Shoigu was fired or not is unimportant. What is important is the West indignantly saying en masse that he was and he better watch out for windows and other memes. That's a huge worldwide insult and slap on the russians' face, whatever happened.
1
Why can't they import?

Russia must not be allowed to recover, at least while the regime cannot be trusted to not attack its neighbours again. Safest thing is to keep the sanctions in place long after the war ends and keep Russia in the stone age for many many years. It is the only safe approach to guarantee the future of the region. Basically Russia's position as a super-power or even a major power must end forever. With great power comes great responsibility.... and Russia have demonstrated they show no responsibility. And btw, UK and USA are the biggest leaders in assisting Ukraine and neither is part of the EU nor are either dependant on Russian energy nor do either give a crap about what Germany or Italy wants. And neither is wavering against Russia's threats. Germany was warned repeatedly about this over the years and laughed it off, so....
1
How's that corner you are cowering in, America? Nice and comfy?
1
russia will respond to this news with another nuclear threat. The USA will backtrack like cowards again, and we'll be back where we started. Nothing to see here.
