  1. I can see Robert Duvall as Quint. Different but still interesting. But Charlton Heston as Brodie? I think we dodged a bullet there. Anyway, my Dad took me to see this on original release. I was 8. Had nightmares for weeks afterwards. It was Ben Gardner's spring-loaded head that did it, not the shark. I still get nervous re-watching Jaws when that scene approaches, even now viewing near 50 years later. And it puts Jaws up there with the Wizard of Oz (several years earlier) as the two films that hit me hardest in the nightmares dept when I was very young. (That witch!). Quick footnote: The editing in this movie is great. That scene where Brodie browses the shark attack books is a masterclass.
