  1. How much pressure can Germany put on the EU to push for peace? None. None whatsoever. The general feeling in the EU (among the people) is that Germany screwed up and they need to own it and lie in it. They put all their energy eggs into the Russian basket. They were warned multiple times over the years and they laughed it off (very publicly) so to hell with them. There is no way the EU will give the Russia a single inch just to bail out the Germans.
