  2. Kelly Johnson did prelim design on the F104 "super" that could have run rings around the eventual winner the F15. Politics, the DOD and Airforce were kinda tired working with such a genius maverick. He also designed an upgraded SR71 "fighter" also run rings around the F15 Politics, NOT supplying our Air Force with the unbeatable best. Thank you fucking Congress of the late '60s.
