  1. The problem with this is that it assumes that England would not react and target Russian airfields, nuclear silos, and submarines in a preemptive strikes. MI-6 would probably have a idea the attack was coming a few hours before it happens. Russian chatter is very easy to pick up on, and the Royal navy has been tracking the Russian baltic fleet for years.

  2.  @Sho-td8wg  that is were the constant Poseidon and Triton patrols come into play. And just knowing where they are would allow the uk to scramble jets and activate aa missile defense systems. They may have only five minutes to react but if they now where, when, how many, and why type of missiles are coming at them then they can intercept.

  3. You forgot a airforce armed to the teeth, a descent submarine force, long range ballistic and cruise missiles able to hit critical military targets in the heart of China, and a army with more fortifications on the possible landing beaches the the Atlantic wall.

  8.  @jimmymc10021  I am assuming that Scotland would not be the major focus of the attack as a strike like this is to send a message, so you want the larger southern cities and not the hardened military installations. Though I wouldn't discount cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh being hit.

  12. Hell I expect the uk would strike first, given that they would know what the Russians are planning do to poor operation security. They probably have a few sub waiting of the coast of St. Petersburg just in case.
