  1. It’s possible McCarthy was overzealous but we now know that it can’t have been by much. It turns out he was right about many of the supposedly innocents. (We also know that he had access to intelligence documents about his targets. They were not randomly chosen.)

  2. I’m dismayed to learn that about Donald Michie. He did lots of good work in computer science and artificial intelligence (and he worked on code breaking at Bletchley park as a teenager). I had no idea he was also a commie :(

  3.  @G_Flash84625  two. One of them was known as a terrorist breeding mosque (which is likely why it was chosen as a target) but I think that’s pretty hard to google for now.
