@orzorzelski1142 GLONASS is not very precise + Russia has never been good at mass manufacturing of electronics, so they don't have a decent number of home-grown GLONASS receivers. They could use cheap smartphones but that leads to other issues -- people phoning home and saying the war is going badly + too many leaks regarding position, strength, plans, logistics...

It's very easy to hear/watch/read the Russian side, if you want to. You are not missing much, though. You can look at the official state lies on Telegram channels, for example. They are occasionally surprising but they are not particularly amusing -- or relevant.

Accurate? Where are all those Nazis, then? We were told there would be Nazis.

@guestimator121 it’s about precise onboard clocks (which GLONASS doesn’t have), it’s about precise orbit info (which GLONASS does have in and around Russia), it’s about good compensation for varying transmission speeds through the atmosphere (particularly when the satellites are far away and the signal goes through more air)… I don’t believe GLONASS is particularly good at the latter. Am I still full of crap? We can literally measure how good the 4 big systems are… GLONASS really isn’t very good. Shall we talk modulation, frequencies, and equations… or do you just want to write words you can’t spell?

@Seven Proxies > Russians definitely have mobility on their side. No, they definitely don't. That was maybe true in the first week or so. The only direction they can really move is backwards. Since then, there are a few places where they have managed to move a few hundred meters forward (at great loss) and maybe one where they managed to move a kilometer or two. >So the Russians can almost strike at will, at any target they like, With missiles and grenades, yes, kinda. They are not very precise and they don't seem to have a lot of missiles left, though. Their soldiers definitely cannot strike at will. I expect them to be worn so much worn down in a week or two that they can only move backwards or surrender or die. That's the situation in most of the Russian occupied territories. The situation in Crimea is different -- Russia might actually have real support in the population there and winning it back will likely be hard.

@I_am_not_a_bot-s6i I absolutely prefer properganda over fakeganda and so should you. Accept no substitutes!

This is the best documented war in world history by a long shot. A lot of the destroyed tanks etc have been photographed and the photos have been uploaded. There is a blog (oryxspionkop) that tracks them and counts them. The pics are there. It did happen. It's not going well for Russia.

@panderjitsinghvv8199 the massive Russian losses aren’t faked. We have pics of most of their destroyed tanks, armored personnel carriers, etc.

@kirgan1000 it’s not precise compared to GPS, Galileo, or Beidou.

There’s a reason why they were proud Brexiteers — knowing the first thing about foreign policy isn’t really compatible with brexit. (Neither is knowing literally the first thing about immigration in the UK — the Pakistanis are not there because “the EU forced the UK to take them”.) They are good at showing us what the works are up to, though. That’s enough to make them worth watching most of the time.

@workinprogress3609 erm, smartphones? Internet? It’s quite hard to sneak things past millions of smartphones… just like we get fewer UFO sightings now and not *more*. It is one of the least staged wars in history… obviously.

@workinprogress3609 take your meds. Zyprexa is very good in the acute phase: it takes a day or two to work. After you are stabilized, you should switch to a different long-term medication.

Russia has zero legitimate targets in Ukraine. Zero.

@remittanceman4685 didn’t they turn that off back in 2000? There was a law and everything.

2014 was not a coup… and did not have much to do with Nuland, despite common Anglosphere fantasies. 2013 illegally brought a Russian puppet to power through election fraud, though… The rest of what you wrote are facts.
