@FreeSalesTips no, not anywhere close. Nuclear bombs need some quite fancy mechanisms to make sure the bomb doesn’t tear itself apart too soon during the explosion. If it does, you’ll only get a tiny explosion and some radiation. Part of it is a conventional explosion that pushes the fissile material together while it starts doing the fission. Another part, for plutonium bombs, is a neutron source that can blast lots of neutrons of the right speed (wrong speed = they don’t split any atoms) at he fissile material. This is often supplemented with neutron reflectors and big lumps of heavy metal to make it harder to push the fissile material apart. Nuclear reactors have none of this. They cannot blow up. Some of them can create lots of hydrogen and oxygen gas which can then explode. That’s why they have super thick concrete boxes around the reactors to contain such explosions. Chernobyl did not have that.
