  1. Chernobyl was an exceptionally stupid design. It has nothing to with current power plants outside of Russia (which still has a few of that type) or with anything that anybody wants to build now. It’s like saying chemistry is evil because of the Union Carbide disaster in Bhopal. No, non-idiotic nuclear power does NOT go very wrong when it goes wrong. The bad things that happened in Fukushima were the earthquake, the tsunami, and the huge panic evacuation. There wasn’t much of a problem with the nuclear power plant.
