@Crazy-ej5gb The sooner the house of Saud is dead, the better.

chawn2112 the conclusion (“just make it legal”) is not at all correct.

Not perfectly happy. A lot of them want to be independent (which is impossible in practice). Essentially none of them want to be American, though.

Perhaps putting a terrorist in charge of the country, one whose wife was a well-known crime boss, wasn’t such a great idea.

Dwight House it might be even worse in Sweden, actually.

speedy01247 actually, the Marshall plan itself didn’t help all that much. What helped in west Germany was Ludwig Erhard’s reforms. The most useful part of the Marshall plan was that it forced proper comparable statistics upon the recipient countries. The OECD is the direct successor to the organization the Americans created to foster that. It also didn’t hurt that Europe was full of Europeans. South America is not so much. Argentina and Chile? Yes. Parts of Mexico? Yes. Guatemala? No. Europeans can’t tolerate heights as well as the natives + there were lots of new diseases they couldn’t handle. That is why parts of Latin America have so few Europeans.

RushiPushi of course he did. He has fallen hook, line, and sinker for the idiotic “legal path to immigration/citizenship” propaganda.

How exactly are Russian conscripts innocent? Are they shooting their officers in droves? Are they surrendering en masse?

@ArawnOfAnnwn ask yourself why that happened so late. Then ask yourself why the CCP only allowed rational economic policies in a few select areas of the country (“special economic zones”).

Choo choo “affluent nations on all sides with similar economies and world views”? really? Have you heard of Belarus? Russia? Turkey? All the idiot crap countries in North Africa and the Middle East?

herranton1979 Actually, we more or less operate ferry services that pick them up by the African coast and ship them to Europe. It’s pretty sad :(

@alican4045 wtf do you side with those terrible, terrible people?

Music isn't loud enough or repetitive enough.

How do they get the water out of the pipeline after the pressure test? Since the pipes more or less follow the landscape, there’s bound to be places where the water won’t run out. Do they have a “water hoover” pig for that purpose? And do they handle the rest by sending warm dry air through the pipeline afterwards?

@jeffw8218 Winnie Mandela the crime boss? Or her terrorist ex-husband?

Thirty.

Railways are by their very nature much less economical than airplanes. All those kilometers of rails are actually quite expensive to maintain. That means they are more expensive even when they are heavily subsidized (which railways are everywhere in Europe) and airflights are taxed (which they are everywhere in Europe). You are actually complaining that they aren't subsidized enough when the real answer should be more flights, more buses, and more cars. Thankfully, we are getting closer to self-driving cars which should finally drive the nail in the coffin for almost all passenger train routes. (In other words: Armadillito is 180 degrees wrong.)
