  1. Einstein was not "considered remedial at school".  He had rather good grades, actually. The myth might have come about because on a 1-5 scale 1 could be best -- or 5 could be best.  Some of his grades use a numerical scale where the lowest number is best and some use a scale where the highest is best.  Not all his biographers picked up on that.
