  8. Only if all people are alike, except for age. There’s more to demography than that. Some people are lazy, some people are creative, some people are intelligent, some people are criminal, some people are nice to be around, etc. It turns out there is a pattern there and it is not about age. France has terrible demographics!

  9.  @BCrossing so how does France pay off existing loans (bonds) without getting new loans? France already has a deficit (meaning it has to loan money)… if it is unwilling now to cut down the public sector and raise the retirement age to something reasonable (like 70), how will it square that circle?

  10.  @PeterPan-fb2ys  it is artificially expensive due to an extremely unfavourable regulatory climate. We could change that regulatory climate back to something sensible. If we did that, it would actually be quite cheap (and clean + it wouldn't shovel mountains of cash into the arms of dictators). The defense/security policy aspect of it alone makes it the only sensible (read: non-evil) thing to do.

  11. It’s not that limited, contrary to what government friendly media are telling us… plus they have more kids than us. So, things will continue to get worse until we actually try to solve the problem (which can mostly be summarized as “remove kebab”). Also, the official costs are too low. There are many costs that aren’t counted. It’s not as bad as when Marianne Jelved still had power and the state tried to tell us there was a net benefit of around 8 billion per year, but it’s still quite misleading.

  17. Agreed. People who can't do basic math really shouldn't be allowed to vote. We would have gone nuclear a long time ago if not for them (and of course the massive Soviet infiltration in our media/schools).
