You could turn this into a great SciShow video. 1) what is ulcerative colitis? immune system f*cking up. 2) actually, there are several ways in which the immune system can f*ck up in the gut that lead to different gut problems that superficially seem the same (why are there different cell layers that are attacked in different people?). 3) standard treatment (from antihistamines and up) 4) things we know don't work 5) things that seem to work on some people (intestinal parasites... or just a weakened form of them so they don't stay in the body) 6) intriguing observations (marijuana seem to work for some people... I don't think anybody knows why yet) 7) various DNA related research... are there differences in gene expression between healthy people and colitis sufferers? What about GWAS (Genome-Wide Association Studies)?

  2. One more thing... do you know if TNF-α is involved? If so, do you know if TNF-α antibodies (Humira etc.) will work? You could reuse some of the research for videos on other immune system diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's syndrome, etc.
