  3. Well, Putin trained 400k Ukrainian veterans (at least twice what Russia has) and the west is supplying Ukraine with an essentially unlimited number of anti-tank weapons and surface-to-air missiles… plus lots of SIGINT help.

  9.  @protonvpn3223  part of it is “Russia Stronk”, which helps Putin’s popularity with the rubes. Part of its that he doesn’t want a modern, rich, well-functioning “Russian” country next door. Part of the regime propaganda is that “maybe Poland and the Baltics can work on Western terms but Russia can’t - Russia is different”. The worst thing that could happen was if Ukraine, which really is much like Russia, showed that to be a lie. Putin is super scared of Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia becoming EU members.
