Not just technically — they were absolutely right about the Sudetenland. It really wasn’t some dumb excuse that many people today think it was. Moreover, Czechoslovakia wasn’t really a model of liberty and good governance and the Slovaks weren’t treated too well, either. What do we do if the villains are right… but we think they will be very, very wrong in the near future? (I’m not saying Russia was right about Ukraine — it very clearly wasn’t.)
