  2. We primarily fear their nukes. I don’t think anybody has expected them to win a conventional war against the west in a long, long time. Still, they could wreak a lot of havoc, ruin the lives of millions, and we feared they would be dumb enough to do it despite it being obvious hat they’d lose.
