  1. Armstrong and Rasmussen (and everybody else at the time) used plenty of EPO -- nobody does that these days. There's a limit to how high their hematocrit levels are allowed to be and you can't really cheat that test. Which is good -- the hematocrit levels of the EPO riders of the 90's and early 2000's killed people and gave others heart attacks. They might use other things these days, that make their restitution faster/better. This likely prevents many injuries so I'd say that is a good thing.
