  1. His Falcon 9 launch costs are also way too high (and they are falling). The satellite cost matches what I’ve heard (500k$ apiece) but it is of course falling. So his investment number is way, way off.

  2. It seems to me he understates the Shuttle launch costs. The numbers I know are 1-1.5 B$ (higher when adjusted for inflation) and the number Thunderfoot uses is 400-something million, which either doesn’t need to be inflation adjusted or is already somehow inflation adjusted in a strange way that I can’t figure out.

  5. Some people in cities will willingly pay through the nose for low latency traffic... think algorithmic trading. So it won’t just be the current low prices for the countryside. There will also be high value customers in cities.

  9. Of course you can. A jet engine is an air pump. They do supersonic just fine. An electric version would work just fine and be simpler, smaller and weigh less... and will be easier to tilt. That’s why Musk wants to make VTOL jets.
