  1. ​​ @SoWhosGae  The death penalty is a deterrent to crime. The executed never again commit a crime, unlike even lifers who regularly commit crimes in prison, on parole and on release. A deterrent to others might be more effective if the death penalty were carried out promptly after a reasonable time allowed for arguments.
