  1. Ancient History Dept.: When Ronald Reagan closed all the government run mental institutions these folks were out there on 3rd Ave. in 6 months. The documentary "Streetwise" shows it's always been there. When Herbert Hoover presided over the beginning of the not so great depression the Seattle Center was a tent city called "Hooversville". I was taxed out of my 40 year home in 2019. Seattle was telling me it was time to leave. The city I was born in no longer had a place for me. My house to be torn down & replaced with boxes. My streets were taken by predator scum. I was lucky enough to have the police show when my place was broken into, but my trespasser just kept coming back. Maybe he's still there as the pandemic might have slowed the development down. I don't know or care. Gone off to greener pastures. It's been beautiful and I hope it can be again. Take care, Seattle!
