When there is famine you need fresh bread every day I'm going to share a recipe for Mayla Melayu Fry bread 2 cups of flour 2 teaspoons of baking powder 1 teaspoon of salt one cup boiling hot water 2 cups of oil in a frying skillet heat to medium high in a bowl combine flour baking powder salt with a fork gradually add the one cup of boiling hot water mixing with the fork while you add the hot water you won't be able to combine all of the flour at first until you turn it out onto the counter or a cutting board and then need and need all of the flower in to the dough place the dough in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours it's better if you do it overnight cut the dough ball in half flower your counter or cutting board with a rolling pin roll the dough 1/8 of an inch with a a biscuit cutter or I have used the lid off of a nescafe coffee jar cut out the circles and then with the rolling pin roll the cut circles to about two times the size then fry in the oil on each side make sure you turn the flatbread over let them cool and cut them in half and they open like a pita bread doee I always salt mine or I use cinnamon sugar on them to make them sweet you can make them savory with anything you like or you can make them sweet with anything you like but it's real fresh bread
