  7. I always find vids about people's opinions on tattoos interesting. So, thank you for making this vid. I currently live and work in Japan and have a lot of tattoos. So far, I've had positive reactions to my tattoos - and I did get to enter one onsen; but that's probably because a lot of tourists go there; and I think being a foreigner definitely helps. The kids I work with here all know and have seen my tattoos. But that's because I got permission from the school to be able to roll up my sleeves in the hot temperature. Kids here are very fascinated and ask a lot of questions, which is great. I do tell them the truth too; yes, it's fashionable overseas and yes, it hurts.

It's an award between the U.S. and South Korea who were allies, if I heard right. I live here in Japan as an English teacher, almost all my students from all grades love Korea and Korean Culture; as well as KPop; I even have a few who want to move to Korea to become KPop Idols and they're learning Korean already on their own. Politics, they ruin things because they live for their own power and ego while the rest of us have to deal with the consequences of their actions and it sucks. Sadly, it's always the right-wingers who are drowning out the voices of Japanese who know Japan did horrible things to South Koreans and want peace and to do something about it; and I'd know because my friends who are Japanese have discussed this before and have said so.

Despite the controveries about Qatar, I am happy for JK as this must be a monumental thing, second to BTS, in his life and he must be excited to share his music and passion for people who love music; as well as reprsent Korea entertainment wise. I get the dilemma though, and I think I'll separate the main issues. JK is going as an entertainer not a politician; Human Rights activism should be directed at the politicians in Qatar and FIFA themselves for doing or not doing what they did or didn't, not to the Artist called for entertainment only.   12. I hope the SK Government remembers the words, "If they (BTS) WISH to do so." Meaning they have no obligation to. As great as it'd be for Armys to see them during their service, adding this extra pressure to perform just comes across as a way to keep making money in the Govt. pocket when the boys can make NOTHING. And not just extra pressure, it's extra hard work, because BTS Always gives everything in their performances to the point of exhaustion. I feel for BTS and HYBE, because honestly speaking, they've been planning around enlistment for a while now, it's why when Suga had shoulder surgery, it was done as soon as because Jin was supposed to enlist a couple years ago and Suga is only a few months behind him. (Dunno why people forget that). I hope Parliament and the SK Government gives a final answer so that BTS can prepare for whichever route they go. It sucks that they're being used as a political ploy when all they wanted to do was share music and impact people.

I also showed this video to a fellow English teacher and he likes the ad and found it important that people watch it and understand what the problem of racism is and to do something about it. Let me get this straight, BTS, who have raised Korea's National Prestige by going to the UN to speak 3 times, have done a global campagin with the UN, have gone to the White House to talk about Anti-Racism, have been global diplomats representing Korea, have done what no other K-Pop group has done before on a global scale, have been nominated 5 Times for the Grammys (which is not as easy as it sounds), have won numerous awards including the big awards overseas and back in Korea, have boosted part of Korea's economy as their own entity separate to K-Pop (yes, I followed the business News), have always shown they were proud of their heritage and culture, have contributed to millions of people coming to SK who in turn contribute billions of won to the national economy, gotten the Korean Cultrual Merit, all that; Were not considered because they are seen as "just idols" who went after their own pursuits....... EVERYONE who does what they do does it for themselves first, NEVER for National Pretisge, it's always personal. Whether they choose to represent Korea more is up to them, which BTS has done, by the way, numerous times, including contributing to Art and Historical items being restored and displayed at home and abroad. I hope there is better talks because the next Generation of idols can benefit from where the govt failed BTS. Now whether the boys themselves would've accepted exemption or not is up in the air, we will never know, (I lean towards them not accepting it and just going because that's who they are, from what we have seen, but it would've been nice to see them be offered it just like every other globally high achieveing Korean man). They know it's better to just go and serve because they're tired of the crap people throw their way and shade them for their character while begging them to reconsider going to the military straight away in hopes of giving them a really bad deal and helping the Hallyu Wave continue growing. Such a demand of them with no appreciation of the boys as HUMAN. I am very proud of BTS and that they chose to do what they're doing now and just going. The folly of this segment was saying just idols and actors pursue their work for personal gain. That is absolute rubbish because EVERYONE does what they do for personal gain.   42. When we'll see our favourite groups on stage again? Depends on the group we follow. Their company will give us a questimated date. For BTS, at some point in 2025, hopefully by June at latest if not, December. And that's life, fans will come and go but people in their own fandoms, who are like Armys, will stay for their respective boys until they return. Like with Super Junior. As Siwon said, (and I know another idol, Henry I believe his name is), they learnt a lot about themselves and from their experiences while in service and they were proud to do it in the end. This is a change in life, and people rarely like change because it's new territory and it makes for an uncertainty, but sometimes change can be good because you explore more. And yes, things won't be the same when groups come back BUT that will depend on the fandoms themselves on how their comeback will be.

  45. I noticed that there is definitely a difference in age group opinions; And then the younger groups being split in the middle was interesting. Honestly, as most commenting aren't actually Korean and haven't grown up in the country nor understand the culture or historical and current affairs aspect of the issue, we don't have a right to say what's right and what's wrong for Korean people. BTS will do what they always do. Continue music, live their lives, do their solo projects, eventually regroup, and they will serve when called. A few years ago, Jin and Suga were already getting ready before the deferment came from what the HYBE letters were saying on WeVerse. And I get what the interviewees are saying; SK is still at war, they're at a ceasefire, so if war breaks out, all able-bodied men will be drafted whether we and they like it or not. This way, if BTS go, they will at least be prepared should something happen. Now how they will serve is up to whatever the government end up doing, which now, from what I understand is too late to apply to Jin, but whether it'll be as some Korean men suggested, 4 months intensive OR the full 18-22 months depending on the branch they go to remains to be seen. For me, I'm gonna enjoy what the boys have to show us until the time comes. And then I'll wait patiently for when they're done to continue their journeys together again.

  52. BTS have the right to expand, experiment, and grow as they so wish to and please. If they continued to have the same sound all the time, then it'd be a bit dull, in my opinion. People change and grow and their styles become different as they get older, no one is who they were ten years ago, why do we expect BTS to be? And people need to remember that Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance are only 3 songs out of BTS's entire repertoire that are sung in English. Their album BE was all in Korean save for Dynamite. And I doubt that their future albums will be all in English save for maybe a song or two; but who knows, maybe they'll experiment with that too by releasing an English version along with a Korean one like what some artists do; just to see how that plays out. We'll just have to wait and see. For me, as long as they have a good message and continue to bring thoughtful and good music, then I'm happy.

That way it is fair and equal that all genders do this act of service for their country. Many countries have women in the military and we can see that they're just as capable to serve as the their male counterparts. I did that for the first month or so, so that the kids and the staff who didn't know me would get used to me being me. Then, at one of the enkais, I risked just my coworkers seeing them and they discussed me being able to roll up my sleeves; luckily mine said No Problem. Do bear in mind though that not all schools will say yes; so, have arm sleeves prepared. As for your hand, that's hard to say. Most ALTs I've met, who do have a lot of ink, have them everywhere but hands. If you can find a way to cover them up, you should be fine.

  174. I've seen a lot of Korean men these days actually talk about BTS and the majority have actually given a compromise option. As BTS, in their eyes and words (the Korean men commenting), have served and given prestige to SK more than classical musicians and Olympic gold medalists have, instead of making them do the full 18-22 months, they stated that BTS should just do a 4-5 month intensive training regiment. That way, they serve less time as a thank you for what they did and go back to doing music; but they are also trained in case war breaks out. And let's be honest, for those saying that BTS didn't start music for SK; No One, and that is all idol groups, atheletes, and classical musicians, (and whoever else can apply), does their profession to bring glory to country at first, that comes after. (At least 98% of the time). That said, you also have the other group of Korean men saying that BTS should serve like everyone else. And to be fair, the guys who say that also feel that Classical Musicians who win awards and gold medal athletes should serve too and not get exemption. And that's fair enough. The country is at a tenative ceasefire, they're not at peace with NK. So, I can see why it's important for them to go. The only thing I am for, is for the government to just make a decision and stop leaving Hybe and BTS hanging as that's all they're waiting for, the next step, as they had actually started planning for BTS going into military service prior to Covid-19 hitting AND the group getting deferment. Last I read in the papers.

  175. ​ @beany1944  I'm not being delusional. The Army (military) is the Army, well, that's if they go to the Army in the end. There are three other branches too, so it's really all dependent on that. But their focus should be on proper military drills and being soldiers, just like they wanted to because that's what everyone else is going to be doing. Unless bribed, no way in hell are the military going to allow idols to perform, (unless it's in the Military Band or in that Military Music/Dance Competition that's just for fun), they never have before.

No matter how they say it, this is essentially like if I were to invite friends to my house for a dinner party and then expect them to pay for the whole dinner, my gas bills, my electricity, and other personal household things because they're there using it; it's just a douchey thing to do and it's exploitative. It's not a good look at all. Good on HYBE and BTS for wanting to continue for country and especially for Armys, but this isn't right, especially as they were invited by the Busan Local Government in the first place. Wanna prove you can host an Expo....then don't get an entertainment company to pay for everything or make them scramble to get sponsorship. They're supposed to just worry about making the show eye catching and amazing.

  179.  @erisedserrano24  Ah. Fair enough. I find Samsung a pretty good brand for me; (and I've felt this long before I even knew who BTS were). Just remember that the boys probably get a commission of sort for products that are sold with them promoting it. (I'm talking about the other brands that they endorse). That said, a phone is an important thing to have and you need one that'll fit the standard you want. And if it means getting one that's not the one the boys are promoting, then it's all good.

  187. The two Koreas are still at war, which is why the compulsory military service is in place for all able-bodied men. Many South Korean men, regardless of how they view it, will just do the service because they do it as a duty to their country. Also, for military service, they're just training in case of war, they're NOT being sent to the frontlines unless an actual war takes place. Mostly, they will be at the military base training and doing their job as temporary soldiers.

Curse that old captain and his crew for lying to the kids, their teachers, and the young crew members; because let's be honest, he knew, he KNEW, that if rescue crew saw the kids in the water they would've been saved first. So the bastard lied and told the kids to stay put while he escaped and he did it in front of their faces as the ship was sinking. His apology means nothing, he's only apologising to save face. And curse to those who lied to the coastguards and didn't give them the right amount of information to be prepared. Those coastguards paid the price for those in authority and their inability to be forthright with them. However, being that 1% of the economic income, which economist were saying is just BTS and not including other massive KPop companies or groups, is still pretty damn impressive and high That said, international opinion is what will also impact certain things considering that for the time being, BTS are at the forefront of being SK's ambassadors; and with how News has gotten out about what the local government in Busan has done, it's not helping the international public image at all, which is what's needed for things like winning the World Expo 2030. But that's just how I saw it. Honestly speaking, the boys need a break from everyone and to move away from being used as they are and then slandered by most media in SK and those various government officials; so maybe the way to go is to just forget about national government wants and do what they want, which seems to be that most of them have already said that they're going when called as they feel it's their duty as SK men.

  211. If I remember reading right, the time period has already been reduced depending on which branch of the military any able bodied Korean Man goes to. I think the Army is now only 18 months. Marines, I think are the same. Navy is 19 months now. And I can't remember the air force time period.

BTS themselves talk about Loving Yourself and being kind to others, a motto that they themselves work hard to do; case in point, recent interviews and hate posts; it's sad and anger-inducing when toxic Armys don't extend the same courtesy. Being an Army myself, I try and call out toxic behaviour when I see it and report it. But it seems nothing is slowing down and obviously you can't get them all. Armys will be waiting for all our boys in BTS to return safely after their mandatory service, we wish them all the very best as they go and serve and hope that they will be treated fairly and well. And we will be keeping a close watch on SK, no doubt about it. On a sadder note, I understand the need for holding things back across the entertainment industry, we all (globally) understand; better to give those who are suffering from injuries and loss the time they need, and for the nation to process all the young lives that were lost. He wore this shirt over TWO years ago; and 3. The shirt had nothing to do with WWII and everything to do with the Korean Independence from Japan when Japanese soldiers invaded and occupied Korean territories. Also, the original designer had actually come out and spoke about he shirt himself and he in no way condones the deaths of hundreds of people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki because of the Atomic Bombs. The shirt was only about freedom for Korea, that's it.

And honestly, I have listened to The Beatles, but their music didn't connect with me very much, (a few of my students do love them though), and that's fine. For British Artists, The Beatles definitely put a mark on the map and that's fantastic; but for this generation, BTS are the ones who put their music on the map and created a great connection. Music, like all Art, is about how it makes you feel and if it moves you. And believe me, I am under no illusion about how the music industry works when it comes to popularity, it happened to The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, even One Direction. While icons of their time and they will not be forgotten, new groups will eventually forge and one day, BTS will be the same, they will get older too; and honestly BTS knows that, they have even mentioned it before. And the woman who said that she followed for 13 years also said that she never saw anything like what BTS has achieved globally, so she did mention that a part of her feels exemption would be okay but it is up to the government in the end and also, duty is duty. BTS may not be all of Korea but they do contribute a lot. But honestly speaking, from how BTS themselves have been speaking of it, they're more or less ready to go. Was one of the reasons that Suga got the surgery to fix his shoulder best he could because he was gearing up to go after Jin was going to about 3 years ago before they were given a chance to extend. That all said and done, like I said above, they're probably going; because in all reality, the war between the Koreas hasn't stopped, it's a military ceasefire that could go at any minute. I live a country over, Missile Warnings where I'm based has happened before.

  237. Agreed. I really liked watching Korea Now as they also have News outside of K-Pop that I follow and watch, as well as interesting segements and stories. Don't get me wrong, I personally don't give a rats ass if the two were actually dating or not, it's their lives and they deserve to be happy, but the way this all played out had a foul feeling from the start where a lot of claims and so just didn't add up; Plus, in the recent Live, as someone pointed out, Bear looked waaaaaaaay to happy for someone who had just broken up with someone. My stance was always, if it's something true, the companies have always confirmed it; And if the photos and videos are real, but the rumours are not, the company have also always jumped in to squash the rumours. Baseless stuff, they usually just collect data and send it to their legal teams to sue the perpetrator, which both BH/HYBE and YG have done, last I heard of this story a while back. I am disappointed in Korea Now for running this. They could've just left it at a story about BP renewing their contract and BTS now all being in the military as separate stories in one segment instead of this.

Hours later, another thing I feel is that this is NOTHING more than a POLITICAL STUNT; look like you're doing something positive that could impact not just BTS but other idols who will achieve something similar in the future BUT the reality is is that NOTHING is going to be done. People have been blaming the teachers for not just taking the baby without understanding that the teachers would be charged with kidnapping and go to jail themselves they did what they had to do and it was the polices' job to take it seriously and take the child. That's fascinating and insanely sad. What a sick world, and all those poor children. Makes me mad. And I agree, in this current case, from what I was reading and watching, the mother was no Saint and she had a very active part, there is a claim that she also videoed the abuse. Sick trophy for her I guess because she thought she'd get away with it.

  240.  @kuepandan  See, the flaw for me in that argument is that you're letting people who do not have a mental problem, have an escape route for their abusing. Jeongin's parents are horrible human beings as was the man who raped the girl a few years ago and claimed he was drunk, so he got a lighter sentence and was freed last year. Some people are just awful people and they shouldn't have the veil of "no one stopped me" as an excuse. And honestly, it's easy for us now to say that we'd say something, but honestly, 90% of people would also say nothing. I'm not saying that bystanders shouldn't say something, but taking such a responsibility away from an abuser isn't right either.

Then proceeds to treat teachers like this when they don't get what they want or get negative feeback about their kids. AND some parents fail to take responsibility for their kids, especially when it comes to acknowledging that their kid is the troublemaker and the centre of the main problem because there's "no way" their child would do that despite everyone saying otherwise. And the bullying, I can bet that neither the parents or the child who did this to the young woman will care. They will just care that they're being called out, but they figured that money talks. Sad. Condolences to the family and friends who lost their child and friend because of bullying.

  247. With so much in the air due to enlistment, I'm not surprised they're releasing it this way first. But I am excited about it. I think the boys are appreciative of the charts and awards; but these days I don't think they care as much as they used to about it as they just want music for Armys. At least that's what it seems to me. We still have a few months before Jin and eventually Suga have to enlist; So, we'll see what happens. There may still be a new mini album planned.

  248. In Sapporo, they lit up the Sapporo TV Tower in purple for JK's Birthday. Which is cool. As for Hee-chul, I can see where he's coming from in all honesty. A lot of people want to adopt rescue animals out of the goodness of their hearts but aren't prepared to deal with the after effects if said pet has learned behaviours that can be loud. On the other hand, not all rescues pets are like this at all, so I don't fully agree with him either. I think the moral of the story is, research the pet you plan to adopt, know the behaviours and asked professionals about what to do if necessary and love the pet you get.

I've seen a few KNetizen comments on BTS's military enlistment; It seems as the years have gone by, the majority are now saying that they should be exempt, because if classical musicians or athletes who were part of a gold winning group but didn't even compete in an event can get exemption; (and many KNets have said they don't even know their names or who they are), then BTS surely deserve the chance to get exemption rights too, if they want to take it, for the things they have done for SK. That said, another KNet said that as a Korean Male, he felt that BTS should be exempt from the main service BUT take part in proper basic training for the 6 months of BOOT, which is actually not a bad idea if they go that route too.

If you're thinking of Bam-Bam, he is Thai, so he went back to Thailand to see if he had to serve as Thailand has a form of compulsory military service, but it's done via lottery. And since the place that Bam-Bam was registered to had met their quota, he ended up not having to serve.

  313. To be fair, BTS aren't the ones actually saying anything other than that they're going once they're called up to. From what I've followed before this became such a repetitive issue that the media just won't damn let go; The media and the SK government are the ones who first mentioned it because of the revenue and prestige BTS brought in, which was a lot higher than the other companies and groups combined. The boys themselves never said a word and just kept working and doing their thing. I read that a few years back, RM already started his military health check up, and HYBE released a statement that Suga got shoulder surgery so that he could get ready for enlistment. Even the Maknaes of the group mentioned a few years ago how they plan to enlist at the same time. At this point, I think the boys should just go, would save them the headache and pawn-ship of it all. But that's just my opinion on the matter.

As Armys, we need to make sure we call out horrible people and don't jump on the bandwagon so quickly so that horrible things like this don't happen again. This type of thing happened to the Life Guards who were given no information about the situation during the Sewol Ferry Disaster, people blamed them for not saving anyone when they literally couldn't do anything due to the currents, no matter how hard they tried. Which does fit with Climate Change, but I did read that Blackpink focused on things like people recycling, deforestation (if I saw correctly) and asking people to think about the effects of climate change on the planet. They also spoke at the UN about it. Whereas BTS, at the UN, spoke on Youth representation. During the speech, BTS were given honourable mentions, but I would gather that one of the main reasons they didn't say more is because BTS weren't there as 3 are serving still and the other 4 are wrapping up.

That said, what miffs me is what I heard about the crowd control....there was none, not even enough cops around to help, even when 4 hours prior people were calling nonstop and begging for help. I read from a Korean writer that SK's President had over 700 police protecting just him that night while more were at another loction for another smaller incident, whereas when the Itaewon Incident happened only about 200 cops or less for 100'000 people were present. Makes you wonder why they prioritised one man who would've been fine with bodyguards around him and maybe 50 police than the future generations who just wanted to enjoy life. (Also saw a video of one poor cop who was trying so hard to control the crowds but no one paid too much attention to him as he was alone with no back up).

Honestly speaking, I don't mind what happens, because if exemption were given; (But it probably won't be as the government doesn't really care about BTS, just about the money they bring and they're only saying this exemption thing to make it look like they care and will do something but they won't); BTS still has a choice to decline. From what I understand, President Moon has been trying to talk to North Korea for the last year and half about ending the war and thus ending compulsory military service, but politics always takes too long. And yes, Shinee members will go when they have to. But it depends on which faction of the military they go to. Minho was only gone for about 18 months, which is a year and a half, as he joined The Marines, I believe. (Please check that, but I know the length was around 18 months only). Park Bogum will be gone a little longer as he joined the Navy.

Actually, a friend of mine lived in SK during BTS's debut years, I think he said he saw them running around once or twice, (debut years, so, think fetus JK, lol); Main Point, he told me that due to strict schedules in the military, the boys will actually get SO MUCH SLEEP compared to their sleep as idols. Which is awesome. And he said that if the boys go at the same time or relatively at the same time, he hopes they'll compete in the military dance (or entertainment, I can't remember what he called it, but he's a former military kid, so he knows about it) competition. SK would definitely win as all other countries will end up enjoying a free show. Lol. His words, not mine. I honestly think that going as 'groups of' would be the best of both worlds, they sorta go individually but still in groups so that the wait is not quite as long if they were super individually. But we'll see, their choice as to how they wanna do it. And agreed too, on the point that they said that they'll go when called, given that they're proud Koreans. And who knows, maybe this will inspire even more change for the future generations on enlistment who will eventually come along when BTS are old and grey, well, if the war between NK and SK reaches a peace settlement; but humans, we know that's a pipe dream for now.

I considered it as a job, so I went to a mini-military camp experience to see what it was like. (And joined the Cadet Corps afterwards). Honestly, despite getting freezing toes from wading through cold mud and water, and a sore butt from the running, I didn't mind it. And I was originally intending to do it. But my vocation ideals changed when I finished High School and decided to enter University instead as I wanted to become a Church Pastor. Looking back, a part of me honestly regrets not doing it, even if I went part time; but the other part I don't, as I've met amazing people along the way that I wouldn't change for anything.

So now, he goes to work just before the staff meeting and then leaves before 6pm. But it is bad here, some teachers don't leave until 10pm after being at school from 7 or 7:30am.   373. Mandatory Service is required in South Korea because they're still at war with North Korea; right now, they're at a temporary ceasefire. It sucks to have to do this, but it's so that men who end up having to fight are prepared should a full on war break out again.

If I got the math down right, if the Hyung Line go first, they'll be at Boot for 6 months while the Maknaes continue their work in thr civilian world; After boot is done, the Maknaes should join and start Boot and from then, we will have at least 1 year of no BTS in public. After that one year is up, the Hyung Line will have finished their 18 months (if they go to the Army or the Marines), And then for 6 months we'll see the Hyung Line do their things, At the end of the Hyung Line being back for 6 months, the Maknaes will also be done with the military. Voila, Max 2 years of them being away on service, done. But that's just my opinion.

Actually, I did read the POV of quite a few Korean Soldiers and the majority also said the same thing about BTS and exemption; they appreciate what BTS have done and had the world been different, then the band really do deserve exemption, but as things are what they are, it's better for them to do boot camp for six months and then do the basic training (I think they called it) every six months after as a refresher." So they gave a type of compromise. But you know the saying, "rather be prepared and ready and not need to do it than be unprepared and suffer for it."

  418. I think Frontline and Essential Workers should be the ones to receive the vaccine first as they're the ones most at risk. I know in NZ, the Prime Minister had said that she will not get the vaccine first as she doesn't see herself as an Essential worker and that that right goes to people like Doctors and Nurses; and that she plans to take the vaccine later in the year around the time the general public will hopefully get it.

And then mentioned a Taiwanese Idol they follow as opposed to any Korean one. As far as I understand from friends of mine who actually know about this, (including Korean friends, one who did serve already), the SK government overturned idols going into a special branch for public service, now they can choose what job they want to do in whichever branch they join. How the govt. seemed to word it, it sounds more like they want the boys to be BTS outside of the military at the same time as opposed to being in the Military Band where they would be part of the military band and performing as the military as opposed to a KPop group. Which is why many seem to be really mad about it. As for choice, I have heard a few idols choosing not to go into the public service branch anymore or military band and chose to do other occupations while serving. I have to check again, but as far as I remember, Minho didn't join the military band when he joined the Marines, but I think Bogum did when he went to the Navy.

  432. @exylon755  I can't remember which episode, but it was 2-4, I think. Recipe was: 1. Ottogi Mayo (I just use mayo or kewpie mayo). 2. Buldak Fire Sauce (black bottle) 3. Sugar I put about 200-250g of the mayo, then added about 2 teaspoons of the buldak sauce, and about 3 teaspoons of sugar. But with the mayo and the sugar, add to taste. The mayo is mostly to stop the burn. Lol.

Like I said, sriracha is good, but it's a little more sour and does hit immediately in the same way that the buldak does. But it should do. I did check online and there are people who have recipies on how to make it from scratch if you're interested in it.

Then he'll be off to six months of basic training, and then after basic training he'll be at the military base with the branch he decides to serve in and in what area for whatever amount of time he's scheduled to be there for. So Air Force is still two years if I read that correctly, Navy is also almost two years, Marines and Army vary from 1.5-2 years. Try to remember that for South Korean men, serving is also linked to patriotism and national pride; I mean, even V has mentioned that he plans to enlist with JK when the time comes (very early interview, just after debut time).

This interview was interesting to watch though, and it was interesting to see that the soldier was also one of the ones who actually felt that they wouldn't need to serve. But in the end, as I've said to people before, even if they got exemption, it doesn't mean they'd take it for themselves; BUT, if criteria are put in place, then maybe for the generations to come, there will be something there for them to make their own choice should they achieve what BTS has in the past 9ish years.

  481. I honestly liked how the boys reacted, not just at the Grammys itself, but also on the VLive. While they voiced their sadness and disappointment and how it's okay to be sad and disappointed, they all also acknowledged how amazing the Doja Cat and Sza's song, (as well as the other artists nominated too), is and how they themselves also enjoy the songs; and they are taking this as an opportunity to be motivated to work even harder. (Although, I feel they work too much). Whatever the reason, many will still feel that they were snubbed, not just at winning a Grammy, but also in the many categories that they should've been nominated into. And for me, as we know that the two oldest will most likely be in the military by Grammy time next year, this would've been a bonus send off for their hard work.

To me, being in the military means you must be serious because in case something happens, your team depend on you to be there for them and vice versa.   517. From BTS's POV, realise that the boys are proud Koreans and have already stated that they're ready to go once it's time. RM has already been spotted (albeit a couple years ago) going for his military checkup. Even the Maknaes had already made plans to enlist together and this was a couple years ago when they were really young. The issue is just the government using BTS's name and making it look like they'll do something when we know they won't. As SK is only at a temporary ceasefire with NK, it's actually important that the boys all go anyways just to be on the safe side. They can't dance and sing their way out of a gun fight. Do I want them to go, not really, but I do get it it's important so it's not a big deal to me. Do the boys want to go? You betcha, they've already mentioned it multiple times. The issue SK needs to look at now though is the Chaebol issue. (Sons of rich CEOs of big comapnies who are able bodied and somehow miraculously are suddenly "so ill" that they can't go to the military). That's actually something they should focus on. I know it's hard, but it's something to expect if you stan an all male K-Pop group.

  524. Not really. There will be Armys who support them going to the Military, and Armys who support exemption, and Armys who don't care as long as the boys themselves are happy. As the woman is South Korean, she knows more about all of this from a historical and cultural perspective too - and she has a point about the criteria being too vague and others using the vagueness to not serve; And as another interviewee said, SK is still theoretically at War even if it is a ceasefire for the time being. BTS going means that if war breaks out they'll be trained and ready to go. Military Service isn't them going to war, as many seem to think, they're just going for training in event of. That said, I've seen a couple Korean men online give an alternative; (these are men who have already done military service, and a few aren't really KPop fans either); they stated that BTS should just go for intensive training for about 4 months instead and then they'll be trained enough and should then be allowed to return to music to continue what they're doing for SK.

I mean, it is a form of politics no matter which way you look at it, even though BTS isn't directly involved. But they're being dragged in in some form. I think the larger comment also accused me of not knowing that the two Koreas are still at war, which I already knew from years ago. And I'm well aware that enlistment is necessary for all able men. I also never said BTS shouldn't go, I said I want the government to make up their collective minds on if the boys are going so the boys and their company can move forward with their schedules around enlistment. And yeah, I guess just leave the two comments alone and keep supporting BTS no matter the decision the government comes to. I think having English speaking members does help break a language barrier, especially when working with media in countries like The US; HOWEVER, to attribute speaking English as the main or only reason, I don't agree with. BTS and Twice work very hard in all they do, they are so very dedicated; and they work hard to have a connection with their fans around the globe. Plus, their messages of self love and inclusion resonates and the music transcends language. In my opinion anyway.

So many things need to be worked through, but both countries stepping together for a better future would be nice. As a Gaijin living here in Japan, I only can be an outsider looking in; as a teacher here, I at least get to have discussions with my students about it sometimes. But I'm hopeful. Most of the kids I teach here adore S.K. and many want to go there when the pandemic is better under control and they're old enough to travel safely on their own.

Soooooooooo, the courts gave custody to a the woman who disrupted a flight because they didn't have the nuts she wanted and she was a selfish Diva; on top of that, she has been claimed to have abused the kids and her husband and they still let her have the kids???? WHAT!? Investigation? Put the kids in a safe place and see if what those two too-rich-and-snobby claims about each other is right. Bloody hell. If she's a Diva already about stupid nuts on a flight, what is she like on a personal level with the kids, let alone the husband? Red Flag! So, I can see why some have speculated that she's trying to start a new company.

  609.  @analori8413  I am into gaming, and I still never heard of him. So, I think it also depends on the game as well and where you are in the world. Like, where I'm from E-Sports isn't really known of that much if at all. It's also interesting that it's only the Grammy that would've made them for considerating considering getting a nomination is a difficult feat in and of itself. Also, all the other awards and the fact that they got Artist of the Year at the AMAs, which is the equivalent of gold by their standards of winning competitions overseas. But oh well, it is what it is and even if given the choice, there's a high chance the boys would be flattered but still go anyway. Saves them the grief and also means they won't have certain people try and attack their character and hold it over their heads, if you get my meaning. Those types want to use BTS for their prestige and their accomplishments but still want to treat them as puppets and subhuman without realising the international image they're giving by doing so; which in the end, is a them problem.

  610.  @analori8413  Cripes, I read LoL as 'Laugh Out Loud' as opposed to 'League of Legends', LOL. And true, but if change can come, then at least it will benefit those who will come after and also, hopefully, pioneer their own road the way BTS made their own. I will stand by what I said before though, I think, honestly, even if they were given exemption, they probably would've gone anyway because they would rather do it and not have it hanging over their heads that they didn't go, even if they do deserve to not have to. On the more positive side, I am looking forward to what future Run episodes will be like, especially if they all try to pull rank on each other. The teasing and the Lols I foresee in their returned chaos.
