In the UK: the initial government slogan was "Follow the Science", which was simply an attempt to pass the buck; medical science (with an estimated 6-8 months for trials of any cure or vaccine, only had damage limitation) while trying to follow the spread of a highly infectious virus that had no cure ; the NHS was in danger of buckling and doctor's were now being hounded by the press and forced to appear on breakfast TV to explain "the Science". How many ways can it be explained that there is a virus, it's now a global pandemic; no cure is available (and won't be for months, if ever) and in every country this virus has appeared thousands have died; if you already have underlying breathing problems be very careful indeed. The slogan got changed.
