State subsidized capitalism, isn't really capitalism or socialism: it can be a form or protectionism, or described as unfair competition (as the taxpayer covers losses) while trying to run state sector industry (ready made monopolies, providing needs) by the rules of capitalism is invariably a mess. I'm sure Ursula V is very protective about the German car companies; how protective is open to debate; but Germany didn't corner the luxury car market by accident and the hedge funds that tried to "short" Porsche/VW soon found out how distorted the market was as they were caught in a "short squeeze" with shares in short supply (price went from Eu200 to Eu1000 in two days) making VW for a brief period the biggest company in the World. Accident or design you can decide; but Germany is not interested in the hedge-funds complaints (the value of investments may go up or down, it's in the small print somewhere). I doubt China is interested in her complaints; they are well placed in the electric car manufacturing industry, but I can't think of the name of one Chinese car company... so I guess Ursula is way ahead of the "game". There may be trouble ahead...
