  1. In the UK both main parties (Tories and "New" Labour) are pro-war; so this wasn't really an election issue. On July 4th: only 60% of the electorate voted; New Labour with 33% of the vote, got 411/650 seats in Westminster; it's a peculiar system, but with 40% that's a lot of voter apathy. Not a lot to vote for really... war, or war?
