@cameronvadnais4388 Yes, in this context "a mug" is someone who is easily deceived (gullible), while "being mugged" is robbery with violence or threats of violence and the main difference is that a mug is a willing victim.

@adamashworth6293 It's a bit of both... those that reply to winning the Spanish lottery (when they haven't entered); they are "fish" willing to jump on the hook. Mugging, on the other hand, is intimidation (often with threats of violence) it's different.
